Nasty room makeover!

This weekend we decided to get a move on remodeling our office/guest room. So far we have removed all the nasty wallpaper and wood paneling and hired an electrician to dispose of the NUMEROUS electrical wires that were spread throughout the room. We are still puzzled by what the actual purpose that this room had before we moved in??? Notice the lovely painting on the pocket door....WHAT THE????
Our plan is to shift the opening of this room to a central location on the wall. In other words, the wall needs to be demolished and reframed! Once that is finished, then we will install french doors to allow privacy and better lighting in the room. I am also hoping that the french doors will allow more light to stream into our kitchen.
 Goodbye wall!

Brooklyn had to be blocked off from entering the construction zone. Notice she is trying to break through!
In the picture below Paul is building a temporary reinforced wall to help support the ceiling while the other wall is taken down and reframed.
Tomorrow the framing should be complete and the sheetrock will be installed! Yipee! No more nasty room :) More pictures to come.
Just wanted to add a couple pictures of Isaac and Brooklyn cozying up on our new couch. I actually found them like this the other day! ahaa :)
